At St Brigid’s Primary School, our curriculum is based on the September 2014 National Curriculum for Key Stages 1 & 2 and the Early Years 2012 framework in Nursery and Reception. Our rigorous, well planned curriculum combined with high quality teaching ensures that children are supported to be well rounded. We aim to teach children how to grow into positive, responsible people, who can work and co-operate with others while developing knowledge and skills, so that they achieve their true potential.
Teaching and Learning
Topic will be taught on the first week of every half term, this will include History/Geography, and DT. Maths will be taught discreetly during this week. We provide a rich and balanced curriculum using a variety of resources to plan and teach. ICT is often used to enhance Topic lessons and where possible cross curricular links are made.
Additional adults are used to support more focused teaching, particularly with groups of children who are working below the national expected standard for their year group.
Please look under curriculum for more information on what your child will be learning each half term.
