Week beginning 18th March 2019; Nursery and Reception were visited by the Y6 Chaplains, they listened to the clarinet in their weekly Polkadot session, they learned all about colour mixing and Nursery enjoyed showing their maths skills and learning some more about their lovely friends! Year 1 used axles to make their final flying machines, they learned all about fractions, wrote adjectives in Literacy and enjoyed investigating in Science. Year 2 learned about hygiene in Science. Year 3 and Year 4 had a full day of Vikings! Year 3 also learned about fractions indoor and outdoor. Year 4 made models of teeth and Year 5 explored boasting, pride and peer pressure in PSHE. Year 5 also completed their final 'pop up' designs in design and technology whilst Year 6 were delighted to meet Mrs Mile's grandaughter!
Week beginning 11th March: Nursery and Reception learn about friends in RE and have fun making gingerbread men! Reception enjoy their weekly dance session, they enjoy their Polkadots session, they have fun timing themselves on the dough table and wear green for St Patricks day! Year 1 learn about fractions, they become authors, they wrote letters to Amy Johnson as well as enjoying PE and St Patrick's day! Year 2 enjoy coding and invasion games. Year 3 explore print making techniques, fractions, ball control and have a PHSE session on acting wrongly. Year 4 further explore the Pied Piper and use concrete materials to learn about tenths.
Week beginning 4th March 2019: There's been lots going on. In Nursery and Reception they have been exploring textures, making kites, learning about instruments, doubling, My happy minds, super physical skills and a range of creative skills. In Year 1 and 2 - they have enjoyed pancakes, exploring axles, World Book day and learning about time lines. In Year 3 they have been developing their art skills, learning about money and enjoyed a whole range of activities for World Book day - including finding that a dragon had been in the classroom! Year 4 have explored the Pied Piper, used concrete materials in mathematics, enjoyed gymnastics and learning about The train to impossible places for World book day. Year 5 have reflected on Jesus' mission in prayer and worship. Year 6 have explored reading props for inference, enjoyed freeze framing in Literacy and have been periscope spies!
Spring 2 2019 - Week 1: EarlyYears make porridge, make scrambled egg, taste fruit, create healthy food plates and enjoy mass in church. Year 3 learn lots about vikings and enjoy learning time in maths and Y4 launch 'The temptest' and enjoy gymnastics. Year 6 made some fantastic fabric slippers.
Week beginning 11th February: Reception learn about emotions, make collages and use super maths skills. Year 4 went to the Blue Planet Aquarium and we ended our week with a whole school talent show!
Week beginning 4th February: Chinese New Year celebrations, Whole school Maths day, Early Years visit Eureka and the dental nurse visits the Early Years plus lots more other learning!
Week beginning 28th January 2018: It's been another busy week particularly for Nursery and Reception! The children have loved writing on post its and talking at the space table in Nursery. In Reception they have loved the laptops, reading phase 3 words and testing magnets around the room! Thank you to all the parents who came to our book 'hug and a mug' morning! Year 1 wrote Haiku poems, did the body in Science, measure and multiplication in Maths and role playing Jesus visiting the temple in RE.
Week beginning 21st January: Nursery have made aliens, explored magnetism, enjoyed the home corner and have braved the cold weather! Reception have enjoyed their weekly dance session, enjoyed reading in their independent play and have found doubles! Year 1 have been learning about coding, in Science they have been comparing animals and in maths they have explored a range of concrete materials. In Year 2 they have enjoyed gym and learning about subtraction. In Key Stage 2 they have been learning about multiplication, fractions, gases and Year 4 made some fantastic anglo saxon bags in DT!
Week beginning 14th January 2018: My happy minds in Reception, Science sorting and maths learning in Year 1. Learning about 3 states of matter and reflection in Keystage 2 and PE with City in the Community!
Week beginning 7th January; Nursery and Reception have been learning all about Space! They have read 'What ever Next!' They have made cheese sandwiches, 2D and 3D rockets and have enjoyed Polka dots music. Key Stage 1 have been learning about China, Caritas in Action, reports and painting and weaving. Key Stage 2 have been learning about pneumatics, Anglo Saxons, exploring perimeter, Atlas work and den making.
Thursday 3rd January and Friday 4th January - Happy New Year! We're back to school and enjoying learning!
Week beginning 10th December - EYFS performed their lovely nativity and enjoyed making christmas cards. Year 1 enjoyed chestnuts and hot chocolate at the fire pit, learning about adjectives for their poetry and Year 2 did some beautiful work on loving and caring for one another. Key Stage 1 also performed their nativity on Thursday evening - it was beautiful! In Key Stage 2, the children enjoyed the fire pit, learning about mindfulness and volume!
Week beginning 3rd December: what a busy week that ended with a fabulous Charlie and the Chocolate factory writing day! We've been doing our daily facts fluency in maths, embedding concrete resources into our maths lessons, using dictionaries, exploring magnetism and learning about advent.
Week beginning 26th November: The Nursery children role played baptism and made toast. Reception learned about birthdays in preparation for Advent and had fun investigating the smelly pots outdoors! Year 1 tasted fruit and learned about time whilst Year 2 enjoyed working scientifically - investigating materials as well as PE and reasoning in Maths. Year 3 also learned about Baptism and worked scientifically on air resistance and Year 5 enjoyed their weekly Spanish lesson.
Week beginning 19th November: Nursery visit the school chapel, Year 1 do lots of concrete maths, enjoy music and investigate the 3 pig houses in Science. Year 3 enjoy investigating forces outside.
Week beginning 12th November 2018: Learning about 'Welcome' in Reception, Baptism and Scientific Enquiry in Year 1 and sorting materials for recycling in Year 2.
Week beginning 5th November 2018: Nursery and Reception learn about collaging techniques, Nursery explore dinosaurs, learn to kick balls and have fun with numicon. Reception enjoy 'book club' and Year 2 have fun using concrete maths materials. Year 4 make electrical lighthouses in Design and Technology and use an atlas in Geography. Year 5 also enjoy map work.
Week beginning 29th October; Locating oceans and seas in Year 4, Sacramental programme, sawing and learning about how to strengthen wood structures in Y3.
Week beginning October 15th: Freddie the dog helped Year 1 with their writing and they also investigated floating and sinking! Year 4 were reflective in their prayer and worship and enjoyed acting out poetry in Literacy!
Week beginning 8th October; Lots of African and African American artwork to celebrate Black History month, the nurse, police and firefighters visited EYFS and Key Stage 1, Year 1 did some super phonics work and great Science learning in Year 2. Year 6 enjoyed observing, discussing and classifying plants.
Week beginning 1st October; Reception have been busy with their weekly dance session, learning about keeping ourselves healthy and learning about my happy minds. Year 1 have been investigating materials, Year 3 have been generating vocabulary with outdoor learning and creating chalk number lines outside. Year 4 have been learning the story of Esau and Jacob in RE and using outdoor learning to inform our writing.
Week beginning 24th September; confident climbing in Nursery as well as mud kitchen play and exploring shapes. Key Stage 1 have been busy with computing, a parent reading morning, PE with mcfc, working scientifically and Year 1 interviewed the Gingerbread Man! In Key Stage 2 there was PSHE and creating simple electrical circuits.
Week beginning 17th September: The Early Years enjoy instruments, outdoor learning, sorting fruit and vegetables, reading and Re. In Key Stage 1 the children have enjoyed drumming, describing materials in Science, learning about rights and responsibilities and learning about more and less. In Key Stage 2 they have been using concrete materials in maths, using Ipads to explore persuasive advertisements, learning about Judaism and dissecting plants.
Week beginning 10th September; it's been a busy second week back! Lots of creativity and maths learning in Nursery. In Year 1 they have been learning about computing, making numbers using concrete materials, sorting materials in Science, acting out in Literacy and learning about yoga and mindfulness. Year 2 have been sewing, reading instructions and using concrete materials in Maths and Year 4 have been learning about Egypt, making bar charts outside and using concrete materials in maths!
A New School Year! Back to school 4th September 2018. The Nursery children settle well and the Reception class enjoy dance and My happy minds in PSHE!
Week beginning 9th July; Reception saved a bee and did lots of self-initiated creativity. Year 1 did creative writing and enjoyed their weekly PE lessons. All children went to visit the pop up farm on our school premises!

Week beginning 25th June: Writing, outdoor maths and numicon fun in Nursery! Warburtons visit Year 1! Outdoor drumming and concrete maths in Year 2! Bamboo Tamboo, Literacy, co-ordinates and PE in Y3 and exploring setting in Year 4.
Week beginning 19th June: another full curriculum! Fixing cars, physical development, technology learning and reading in the Nursery. Year 1 use lots of concrete resources to learn about money and place value in maths and they continue to love reading. Year 2 designed and made fruit salads, painted self portraits and did planting in Science. Year 4 enjoyed exploring sound, drama, using concrete materials in maths and athletics with City in the Community. Year 6 continue to play the Bamboo Tamboo and enjoyed workshops on South America!
Welcome back to School for Summer 2! Lots has been going on! The Reception class children attended an adult education library workshop with parents and enjoyed finding out about their new topic in the classroom. Year 1 played lots of fun phonic games and made fruit smoothies in design and technology and Year 2 completed some Lowry inspired artwork!
It's been a busy last week of May! Bike washing and aeroplane making in Nursery, Clay mural making in Years 1 and Year 2, lots of outdoor activities - pond dipping, predicting times, similies, and reading and Year 2 enjoyed a McDonalds lunch as a treat for the end of SATs. In Key Stage 2, finding out change in maths, heiroglyphics writing and a trip to Tatton park in Year 4

Thursday 17th May - Year 6 enjoy their last SATs breakfast; 11am sausage and bacon sandwiches to celebrate the end of SATs - Well done Year 6 for smiling all week.
Week beginning 14th May - The Early Years go to Cocksfield Farm, nursery write animal facts and have lots of water fun, amazing maths in Year 1, super science in Year 1, Fractions in Y3 and celebrating The Royal wedding - it's been a very busy week!
11th May 2018 - our school library is being built and will soon be fitted in the Key Stage 2 area! It is so exciting!
Week beginning 8th May in Key Stage 2 - making quiche with Discover and Create in Year 4, computers in Year 3 with mgl, a group of Y5 go to see our new library being built and Y6 PE with City in the Community!
