During the Summer term each year all children take part in Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service's Safe4summer campaign. This is usually carried out in school through lessons and visits from the fire service. This year we are asking all children to access the Safe4summer website which covers water safety, preventing anti-social behaviour and road safety. There is also a poster competition with the first prize being an iPad.

Amidst all this uncertainty, we are offering these film resources for families at home as well as schools completely free of charge this Easter.

Please ensure that your child's reading book is in school everyday and it is signed.  We always begin our morning with reading and our classrooms are now open from 8.45am to give children lots of time to get their reading miles in! 

Swimming times this year are:  Year 3 every Wednesday afternoon and Year 4 every Thursday afternoon.  

 

 

As well as Swimming, PE will take place on a Friday for Year 4  where children will be learning lots of new sporting techniques within their physical education. Year 3 PE will now take place on a Tuesday where children will be learning the many techniques of dance. PE kits MUST be worn: white shirts, black shorts and black PE pumps.   In addition, we will be working on a daily mile within the school day where children will have the opportunity to run a mile.  This has proved beneficial for children physically and mentally.

 

Swimming in Year 3 and Year 4 will be every Wednesday (Y3) and Thursday (Y4) afternoon at our local swimming baths. Swimming is part of the children’s programme of study.  All children will need a swimming bag with a towel and a swim hat.  Girls are required to wear a swimming costume and swimming hat and boys to wear swimming shorts.
