Holy Communion News for children who missed their celebration in June 2020

    Dear Parents,

I am pleased to inform you that Fr Jo Jo has offered to facilitate your child’s first holy communion during October 2020 (dates to be arranged).

This will need to be done in line with Covid 19 rules:

    • There is a limit on the number of people that are allowed to come into church.
    • You will only be able to bring the people who live in your house. Unfortunately, subject to the law, you cannot invite extended family members or friends.
    • You will be spaced out in the church from other holy communion families.
    • There will be no singing.
    • Staff from school will not be able to attend. Our priority has to be keeping school open and reducing the risk of Covid 19 infections coming into school.

I understand that this will be very different to the way we usually celebrate holy communion and hope that you appreciate the extraordinary situation we find ourselves in. We’re having to learn a very different way of being, which impacts on all aspects of our lives. I know that Fr Jo Jo will do everything he can to make it a beautiful and memorable service.

Once the slips are returned, we will organise the dates and times.

    Yours in good faith,

    Mrs Miles

    24th August 2020

    Dear Parents/Carers,

We are looking forward to welcoming the Year 6 children back on Thursday for a special day. The day will start at 11am.

You may drop your child at the main school gate at 11am and pick up at 2pm. Please try your best to social distance.  We ask that you do not park on double yellow lines, the church car park will be available for use.

Unfortunately, due to Covid 19, we are not able to invite parents/carers in for this day. At 2pm when you collect your child we will open up the school car park for you and your child to say their last farewells to each other. As difficult as it will be, please try your best to follow social distancing rules. During your child’s time in school we will provide them with lunch and refreshments, we will be handing out Year Books, hoodies and sharing special memories.

Also, unfortunately due to Covid 19, we will not be able to have our traditional water fight so there will be no need to bring a change of clothes, buckets or sponges. Rest assured, we will be following all Covid 19 safety procedures, handwashing, sanitiser and toilet use to keep our children as safe as possible.

I would like to thank you all for your support and thank all the staff who are giving up their holidays to help us support Year 6.

    Yours in good faith,

    Mrs Miles
